How it works

BPC-157 is a short amino-acid sequence derived from a protective protein found in gastric juice. In laboratory work it is associated with new blood-vessel formation (angiogenesis) and growth-factor signalling — the main reason it is linked to repair: better blood supply means more oxygen and nutrients reach healing tissue.

It also appears to act on tendon and ligament cells (fibroblasts) and to support the gut lining — hence its popularity in gut-health discussion.
