Handling research peptides

A plain-English overview of storing, reconstituting and handling lyophilized research peptides — with links to the detailed guide for each step. Reference information for laboratory research use only.

Before you start

PX1 Labs materials are supplied for laboratory and in vitro research only — not for human or veterinary use. Work in a clean space, keep the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis with the vial, and record what you do.

Storing the vial

Sealed lyophilized vials tolerate short-term storage at room temperature (under three months) in a cool, dry, dark place. For longer storage, refrigerate at 2–8 °C or freeze at −20 °C, and avoid repeat freeze–thaw cycles. Once reconstituted, keep the solution refrigerated and use it within a few weeks. Reconstitution

Reconstitution is adding bacteriostatic water to the powder to make a solution. Add the water slowly down the inside of the vial rather than directly onto the powder, and let it dissolve without shaking. The volume you draw for a given amount depends on the vial strength and the water added — the reconstitution calculator works it out, and the reconstitution guide covers technique and solvents. Handling and hygiene

Wipe the vial stopper with alcohol before each draw, use a fresh sterile needle, and avoid touching the stopper or needle tip. Keep solutions cold, labelled and dated. Minimising contamination and freeze–thaw cycles protects both potency and sterility.

Check the Certificate of Analysis

Every batch ships with a lot-specific CoA. Match the lot number on the vial to the lot ID on the document, then check purity (target 99%+), identity confirmation and endotoxin figures. Our field-by-field CoA guide explains each line.
