About GHK-Cu

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (GHK). The sequence occurs naturally in human plasma and has a high affinity for copper ions. As a small, well-characterised peptide-metal complex, it is among the most extensively documented compounds in dermal-matrix and fibroblast research.

PX1 Labs supplies GHK-Cu as a 50 mg lyophilized powder with a characteristic blue tint from the copper complex, verified at 99%+ identity purity by HPLC. A lot-specific Certificate of Analysis is included with every order.

What it's known for

GHK-Cu is best known for skin and collagen. Here is what it is most associated with. (Supplied for laboratory research use only; not an approved medicine.)

Collagen & skin

Best known for collagen production and skin structure.

Skin remodeling

Associated with clearing damaged matrix while building new collagen.

Hair

A popular hair and follicle topic.

Antioxidant support

Linked with copper-dependent antioxidant activity.

How it works

GHK-Cu is a copper-bound three-amino-acid peptide that occurs naturally in the body (levels fall with age). Bound to copper, it participates in many gene programmes: in lab work collagen and antioxidant production trend up while inflammation and tissue breakdown trend down.

That two-way action — building new collagen and clearing damaged matrix — is what makes it such a popular skin and repair topic. The copper is also why the solution is naturally blue.

What the evidence shows

GHK-Cu has decades of cosmetic and wound-healing literature plus smaller human studies (e.g. on wrinkle depth and skin density), usually under 50 subjects per arm. There are no large multi-centre trials. The evidence is stronger than for many newer peptides, but still limited.

Side effects & safety
Reference information — not medical adviceSummarised from public research literature. PX1 Labs products are supplied for laboratory research use only; not for human or veterinary use.

Commonly reported

  • Skin redness, tingling or dryness (topical)
  • Injection-site irritation
  • Rare contact sensitivity to copper

Cautions & contraindications

  • Adds to total copper load — caution with copper-related conditions (e.g. Wilson's disease)
  • Limited human injectable data; most evidence is topical/in-vitro
  • Avoid in pregnancy/breastfeeding

What researchers commonly report — by week
Commonly reported, not guaranteedThese timelines summarise what self-experimenters and widely available community sources describe. Individual results vary widely, many notice nothing on this schedule, and these are not promised outcomes. Reference information only — not medical advice. PX1 Labs products are supplied for laboratory research use only.
Week 2–3
Smoother, more hydrated, calmer-looking skin commonly reported.
Week 4–6
Firmness, texture and fine-line softening frequently noted.
Week 8–12
Cumulative skin-quality (and hair) changes reported.

Documentation & quality

GHK-Cu passes the same five-stage PX1 quality process applied to every product: HPLC potency analysis, mass-spectrometry identity and purity confirmation, pH and stability validation, sterility and endotoxin (LAL) testing, and QC batch-consistency verification.

A lot-specific Certificate of Analysis ships with every order. The lot number printed on your vial matches the lot ID on the document, so the material on your bench can always be checked against the data on file.

References & research

Selected peer-reviewed literature on GHK-Cu (via PubMed), provided for educational context. A reference does not imply a clinical claim for PX1 Labs products.

  1. The potential of GHK as an anti-aging peptide.

GHK-Cu — questions

Why is GHK-Cu blue?

The blue colour comes from the copper(II) ion held within the tripeptide complex. It is a normal, expected characteristic of authentic GHK-Cu material.

What size is the PX1 GHK-Cu vial?

Each vial contains 50 mg of lyophilized GHK-Cu. Purity and identity figures for your specific lot are detailed on the included Certificate of Analysis.
